The Undergraduate Historical and Critical Race & Ethnic Studies Journal at UC Merced is a student-led publication that publishes undergraduate research and book reviews.
The first issue of the Undergraduate Historical and Critical Race & Ethnic Studies Journal at UC Merced acted as a continuation of the sixth volume of the History program's student-led Undergraduate Historical Journal. In the 2019-2020 Academic Year, the History program and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) program united as majors offered in the Department of History and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. The Journal has always been committed to addressing urgent questions of race, class, and gender in the past and present, so it is a natural progression to directly incorporate the critical work of undergraduates in the CRES major.
The Journal seeks to expand student opportunities in editing, publishing, research, writing, and more. To read the latest issue of the journal, click here.
